Our People

In the interest of cyber security, we chose not to list the names and roles of our team publicly on our website, however we are very happy to email this upon request to in**@ye********.org.

YES is led by a board of 7 Trustees with a range of backgrounds including global telecoms/IT business, strategic planning and consultancy, grant-making and charitable foundations, social research, education, youth criminal justice, military and police forces, and local business owners.

All of our Trustees are passionate about improving access to quality mental health support for young people. They meet on a monthly basis to review reports submitted by the management team and discuss ongoing operations and future strategy of the organisation. They ensure that the charity complies with its governing document and charity law, as well as being financially viable.

The day-to-day running of the charity and delivery of the board’s strategic plan is the responsibility of our experienced management team. Within the team are individuals who have held management roles in the non-profit sector for over 15 years, worked in mental health charities operating at both local and national levels, grant-funding organisations, and in non-profit governance roles such as Trustees and Treasurers.

They also have vast experience in working directly with young people, including those who are from particularly vulnerable or disadvantaged groups, such as young carers, care leavers, neurodiverse, and transgender clients. One of our management team, who is also our Designated Safeguarding Lead, is a qualified person-centred Counsellor who specialises in working with young people aged 11 to 25 years.

YES small team of Support Workers are responsible for delivering all of our information, advice, and guidance services, providing emotional support to young people on our counselling waiting list, and delivering sessions and events in the community.

All are experienced in working with young people, and all are extremely passionate about the work that they do – we even have one volunteer Support Worker who has been working with us for 18 years!

YES works with an established network Counsellors, including both fully qualified and trainee Counsellors, those that work either at our YES site or in local schools, and some who provide our online counselling services. All our Counsellors attended, or are currently attending, their training at British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) recognised training providers.
